The Boston Rugby Football Club Men's and College 7s Summer Rugby Program will start the second week of June and run through the beginning of August.
The Boston 7s program offers a great chance for men’s and college players of all experience levels to challenge themselves, get playing time, learn from Coach Rob Conway and some of the best players in the country, and have fun. The program will field 2 teams this summer, and welcomes all senior men and college players to participate.
This summer we will be competing in the NERFU Men's Sevens Championship Series. This means that players will practice and travel to all tournaments together, since both teams will be competing at the same locations.
Practice will begin on Tuesday, June 9th at 5:30 PM, when we'll play some touch and then have a BBQ along with the Boston Rugby High School Program. After that, practice will take place every Tuesday night starting at 6:30 PM at the Milton High School lower field, 25 Gile Road, Milton, MA.
Schedule and Events
Boston RFC will be entering teams in the following tournaments, all of which count towards the standings in the NERFU Men's Sevens Championship Series:
Worcester 7s (MA) - June20th
Newport 7s (RI) - June 27th
Springfield 7s (MA) - July 11th
Saratoga 7ss (NY) - July 18th
Dues for the summer will be $25 per tournament, payable up front and due by Monday, June 15th. So if you plan on playing in all 4 tournaments, you will owe $100 by June 15th. 3 tournaments will be $75, and so on.
USA Rugby Registration/Eligibility
Anyone planning on playing 7s for Boston must be CIPP registered with USA Rugby to be eligible to play. This applies right away starting with the first tournament on June 20th. If you haven't yet registered or transferred your registration to Boston Rugby, please do so as soon as possible. This is especially important if you are transferring from another club, as you need a release from that club and the transfer process can take up to 7 business days.
More information and instructions from USA Rugby regarding this process can be found at the following link:
It should be a great summer, and we're really looking forward to getting started on June 9th. Please feel free to reach out to Chris Williams with any questions, or to be added to our summer 7s email list.
