Youth (Age 14-18)

Boston Rugby Club is excited to offer high level rugby for high school rugby players this off-season (both boys and girls).

Sheltered from the New England winter, within the Union Point Sports Complex dome in Weymouth, there will be three sessions offered during December:

  • Dec 2nd, 2-4 pm: Boston Rugby Academy
  • Dec 9th, 2-4 pm: Boston Rugby Academy
  • Dec 16th, 2-5 pm: Eagle Impact Rugby Academy ID Clinic

Boston Rugby Academy

With a limited rugby calendar in New England for high school players, the Boston Rugby Academy offers an opportunity for local players to prepare for their upcoming season with multiple sessions during the off season. The sessions are run by top quality coaches at the brand-new Union Point rugby facility. This December's sessions will also focus on preparing players for the Eagle Impact Rugby Academy (EIRA) ID Clinic, with the hope of increasing the number of local players represented on future EIRA tours and ultimately representing the High School All Americans.

About EIRA

EIRA's mission is to to identify and develop the best young rugby players in America. The best prospects graduate to the USA High School All Americans (U18s) and U20 player pools. EIRA is endorsed by USA Rugby and is a pathway to the USA High School All Americans. EIRA's Director Salty Thompson was recently voted USA Rugby's Male National Team Coach of the Year at the 2018 USA Rugby National Development Summit and has coached a number of Boston Rugby players, past and present.

To register for all three sessions: $90

To register for the December 16th EIRA session only: $45

To register for the two Boston Rugby Academy sessions only (Dec 2 & Dec 9): $45

Brahmins (Old Boys)

The Boston Old Boys, the “Brahmins” are the 35 and older side of the Boston Rugby Club. Our Old Boys are one of the most successful senior teams in the East. We are a bit round and a tad creaky, but our strength and wisdom prevail. We play 3 or 4 games in both the fall and spring, and take one warm weather tour every MLK weekend in January to Florida, Bahamas, etc. and enter an occasional OB tournament. Training is optional.

If you’d like to run around with the young guys, good luck. We’ve found it often leads to unnecessary injury, muscle strain or pulls, so we encourage individual personal fitness routines. The social dues for Brahmins are $100 per year, this allows you to put on the black and white Brahmin jersey and brag about the good ole days after our matches as we cheer on the young studs. Pay your social dues here.

Email Joe Dolan or Dan Master for more information about the Brahmins.
