DIII Match Review: Maccabis 28 Boston Rugby DIII 19

What a beautiful day for rugby sunny, mid-70s, a very light breeze, and a good pitch.
The match was fairly well contested with the Boston Maccabis having the more dominate side. While the score may indicate a more evenly played match, the Maccabis left 13 points on the field due to poor kicking (missed 5 conversions & 1 penalty).

The Maccabis open the match very strong. Early pressure deep within the 22 resulted in Boston committing too many red-zone infractions and an issuing of a yellow card. Credit Boston for its strong defense and holding the Maccabis to 2 tries in the first 20 minutes (9th & 18th minutes) and then scoring a converted try near the end of the half (34th minute). 10-7.

The second half continued where the first half left off good back-and-forth play from both teams. The Maccabis took control of the match in the middle of the second half with 3 tries (13th, 19th, & 23rd minute) before Boston put in a strong showing to score one at the 29th minute. A 34th minute PK put the Maccabis up by 3 scores and Boston had the final word with a nice try at the 39th minute. 28-19.
